Stayed here for a couple nights away for our anniversary. We hiked down Canon Mtn via the Kinsman Ridge trail and got really beat up. The trail was in horrid shape; I don’t know if it’s from the recent bad weather or just hard use. I guess there’s a reason they recommend you hike UPContinue reading “Inn at Ellis River”
. . .so little time to blog about it. In the past 9 days I’ve attended a parade with the Mack, been to the Swan Boats with Beth, been to the farm, run a speeder excursion, and worked 3 24s. Not to mention considering moving to NH. And back to work for another 24 tomorrow.
Here’s one last video from the week’s activities. This was shot at one of the paved crossings along the Mountain Division last Thursday, and at the turnaround spot by the Portland Water District fence.

From Union Pacific… The MT-14 arrived back fr0m the Boatyard today. Woohoo! If the weather holds, I hope to go for a shakedown run on Friday. Thank you to Warren, Tim, Brian, and the Island Street crew! Looking forward to steaming on Saturday, too.
I’m experimenting with a new format for the RFD news blog. You can find it here.

ApparentlyContinue reading “Gaylord National Resort Update”
Ericka dragged me to Florida this week for a surprise getaway. Dragged, really. Kicking and screaming.:-) See? Three days, two nights at the Tween Waters Inn on Captiva Island. We had a cute cabin, a cute rental car, and a nice time. Have to do this again sometime.
We had the first Monday Night Steamup of the season today at Larry Mosher’s. Larry pointed out that the days are as long now as they will be in August, and the weather finally got nice enough to run. http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf Larry ran his K28 with a good string of stock, Jessie brought Ruby and triedContinue reading “Steam season is back!”
