October 2022 is over, and not a moment too soon.
I’ve mentioned losing Cricket, almost losing Duke, and physically losing Daisy already. Last week a family member started Hospice, and his journey ended early yesterday morning. On the other side of the family tree a cousin, younger than me, suffered a stroke last Friday; he remains in the ICU.
Our driveway is long and we normally get few trick-or-treaters. This year we turned off the lights, hunkered down, and ignored Halloween.
We will be OK, but I’ve had enough for a while. October can bite me. Bring on November.
(And BTW, the laundry rack mysteriously fell over. Ginger has no idea why.)
