Last week Kiddo and I had an opportunity to do some work along the Milford & Bennington RR in NH. We joined a small group consisting of 3 motorcars and 6 people to clear sight lines along the right of way.
The M&B is mostly dormant now, but the line remains in good shape. We hope to continue to foster a good relationship with the owners and return often in the future.
“The Curve” outside Bennington was laid in the 1950’s to bypass a more complicated yet redundant track arrangement.
EMD SW-9 #1423 (formerly 1228) rests in storage at a sort-of secret location on the railroad. Retired from the B&M RR, it shows evidence of Minuteman (maroon with gold stripes) and McGinnis Blue paint schemes beneath its battered Guilford gray.
