I tightened the Golden Rail Clamp on the new garden railway yesterday. Test trains and adjustments began immediately.
It’s tentatively named the Connecticut River Division. It’s ostensibly an extension of the smaller-scale indoor empire, the Deerfield Southern. I’d love to eventually work out a way to pass traffic between them to make operations more interesting.
Today’s plan was simply to tidy up the debris from railway construction. That led to a full day of garage and barn cleaning. The hard work of spring cleaning is not the cleaning, but the decisions. This year it is complicated by difficulties in disposal. I can’t just throw things at the curb as usual.
The job is still only half complete, but the spring game of Motorized Tetris is done. Everything except one of the tractors started on the first try, so that is a big win!
