Built in 1879; burned in 1915. Reopened in 1916; expanded in 1928. Eagle Mountain House is one of the last remaining grand mountain hotels in NH.
Half a century ago my great uncle owned it. My grandparents met while working there, my great aunt once ran the dining room, and my dad had his first summer job there. Today they have no idea who I am, but that’s OK. It was a great weekend.
