KISS principle

It’s winter, and the house is dry.  It’s becoming impossible to pet the cats without shocking them.  They are not impressed.

I have a machine to deal with this problem.  It uses fans, electricity, and noise to add moisture back into the air.  It requires constant attention and daily refills.

I also have a machine to dry my laundry.  It uses fans, electricity, and noise to remove moisture from my wet clothes.

My Yankee ancestors had a joint solution to both problems.

It uses no electricity, no fans, and requires no maintenance while it silently removes the moisture from my clothes and adds it to the indoor environment.  Win-win!

Plus Sammie likes to hide under it.
