For almost 15 years now, I have hated one of our local news gathering organizations. They had a muckraking reputation and an “if it bleeds, it leads” philosophy. I was once on the wrong end of their news gathering efforts, and I felt they were a perfect example of all that is wrong in the news business today.
Needless to say, I’ve avoided them.
Yesterday I had occasion to watch part of the funeral for BFD Lt. Walsh on parallel televisions. One was tuned to the news organization I hate, while the other was my favorite channel. Guess which one babbled incessantly throughout the procession, while the other played the audio of the bagpipers?
People change. Maybe TV news directors do too.
