Themes

I’ve noticed lately that some of my shifts seem to be developing themes. New Regular Partner and I have had Chemically Enhanced Middle Aged Female Day, in which all of our patients were women 40-55 years old and were either drunk, high, or overdosed. There was Seizure Day, filled with seizing men in their 50’s.

A few weeks ago we kicked off the trend with Deathly Ill Octogenarian Day. It was the gift that keeps on giving, with two cardiac arrests, a sick bradycardia, and a major stroke among other things.

Today was starting to look like Atrial Fibrillation Day, but the pattern died out. It has been all cardiac though.

Anticipating next week. . .
