I saw this video years ago, and I’ve tried to describe it to others many times since. I was glad to stumble across it on YouTube this evening. Watch around the 0:20 mark when the Wagon catches a hydrant on the fly, without even slowing down!
I wonder if that was rehearsed, or if they really did it that way routinely? Either way, search “LAFD 1949” on YouTube for more gems.
