While going about my business today, I was catching up on international news via the BBC’s Newspod podcast.  I don’t know if it comes from living in a relatively small island nation, or if it’s some legacy of their former empire, but the BBC does a much better job reporting news from around the globe than their American counterparts.

The December 17 edition includes an interview with a representative of the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel regarding an anticipated spike in call volume around the holidays.

The paramedic in me found it hilarious that there is a healthcare union with the abbreviation APAP.

Of course they call it Paracetamol, and I don’t know if the abbreviation applies over there.  It still brought a chuckle to my day.
