1/26 – The Howe is finally under cover in her new home. I need to finish telling the story, but it has a happy ending thus far. This one looks best with a retro filter.

1/27 – Just uphill from the Local Suburban ambulance bay, the floodlights interact with the tree branches in a spiderweb pattern. I’ve been trying to capture an image with little luck. It looks even more spectacular with a bit of rain or ice on the branches.

January 17 – Thermodog. The fire looks much more impressive in motion than in still life.

July 18 – How to Piss Off Your Cat in 4 Easy Steps

January 19 – Plum Island. Shot on the iPhone with Camera Plus and a Holga filter.

As I sit here and type, the dog is doing it again at my feet. She’s a Tennessee girl, and I don’t think she really likes this New England winter stuff.

Eight degrees (Project 366 – January 15-16)

January 15 – Seat heaters, engage! My TDI spent the night outside; unlike its ancestors it started and ran without a hiccup.

January 16 – it was still only 7F when I left work Monday morning. I caught this shot along the Plum Island Turnpike.

A NOTE FROM THE MANAGEMENT: My apologies if you have been getting blank photo posts. I just discovered that somehow one of my Picasa settings had been changed to Private. I could see the photos but no one else could. I’m not sure when/how it happened, but I’ve been having an awful time with the new Picasa interface imposed by Google Plus. Google, do you hear me? I want the old Picasa back!

9/2 – Seen on the Mass Pike. I’m not sure what it means, but I bet the local fire marshal might find it interesting.

9/3 – Family weekend in Buffalo. You get to see a lot of Beth.

9/4 – Thirty Mile Point, Lake Ontario

9/5 – Medic 9 (but not mine) on the move

9/6 – Saturday I officially become a Soccer Dad

Christmas Eve

The run up is over. It’s time to pour a glass of wine and sit in front of the fire with Mrs. Mack505. Beth has been wonderful today, positively exploding with anticipation.

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family. We couldn’t have made this year without you.

12/22 – Cold morning at the Mill Yard.

12/23 – Christmas is often about warm, comfortable times with our families. Chai is doing her part.

12/24 – And to All a Good Night! Clarabel looks like we feel. Tomorrow will be worth it, though.

365 Update (12/8-9)

12/3 – Cold afternoon, Merrimac River

12/4 – Sunset over the airfield, Lawrence Airport

12/5 – Hot horse.

12/6 – History lies forgotten on the floor of the firehouse. Box 12 was our last street box and was recently removed for construction. It will return as a master box, but there are no more street boxes in our system.

12/7 – Cold geese on Joppa Flats.

11/26 – Mrs. Mack505 really hates it when the cats walk around outside the upstairs railings. It’s about 12 feet to the floor below, but no one has fallen in over 12 years.

The week that almost wasn’t (P365)

Events and circumstances have caused me to neglect Project 365 this past week. Carrying a camera and photographing whatever strikes my fancy, however, has become a habit. Here’s a brief look from the eye of my personal hurricane.

11/3 – I caught Engine 2 and Ladder 2 doing something at the Firehouse Center. They may have been installing the Christmas lights.

I also note that I need to clean the lens of my camera phone.

11/5 – Helipad at Local Community Hospital after dusk. I wish I’d had my big Nikon with me to do this one justice.

11/6 – Sunrise. The (blurry) end of another night shift.

Also 11/6 - DHART 2 on the helipad at LCH. I had the Nikon this time. . .

(For those who may be concerned based on my previous posts, it wasn’t there for me or anyone I know.) Things seem to be settling down and looking up here at Mosquito Hill. Time will tell.
