Priority one medical, decompensating right in front of us. The hospital has a helicopter coming to take him to Big City Trauma Center before we can finish writing the report.

Priority three, no medical symptoms. The patient wants to go to the hospital, so off we go.

Priority one trauma. This one doesn’t go to Local Suburban; we call the helicopter and send her directly to BCTC. Two fire engines, two ambulances, a supervisor, lots of police cars, the helicopter, and a boat. (Yes, a boat.) The Little League game is delayed, but we put on THE big show for the afternoon.

Priority two, stable with minor medical complaints.

And the night is still young.
