The Big Time

Well, I’ve finally hit the big time here at NfMH. I’ve started getting comment SPAM. For those of you who do genuinely comment, I appreciate them very much.

Comment moderation has been enabled. Hopefully I’ll be able to respond to comments in a timely fashion, yet keep the SPAM out.

    To me, the most troublesome comments were the ones in Chinese: were they thoughtful, insightful commentary on the issues I raised, or were they the Chinese version of body-part-enlargement and penny-stock scams? Since my knowledge of Mandarin is lacking -- especially in the anatomical and financial fields -- I just deleted them. Many of them. About 300 of them, in fact. I *still* can't look at an egg roll.....

    Yes, getting spam comments is even more of a sign of success than breaking the "magic 10" hits per day!


    I stumbled across your blog a few months ago (from one of the other firefighting blogs) and have found your take on things to be quite good. You seem to face many of the problems of your brethren in larger cities, as well as the unique issues of smaller communities.
